Because it was designed from the outset to wear a suppressor and a red dot at the same time, the FN FNX-45 Tactical asks the shooter to give up nothing to run both.

FN builds this pistol on a hammer-fired DA/SA action with fully ambidextrous frame-mounted decocking and safety levers, an ambidextrous slide stop, and a reversible magazine release, which means a left-handed shooter runs the gun exactly the way a right-handed shooter does. The 5.3-inch barrel comes threaded .578×28 for a .45-caliber can, while raised Trijicon three-dot green tritium night sights sit high enough to stay usable with an optic in place. Beyond that, FN’s MRD mounting system uses interchangeable bases and plates to accept several red dot footprints. Fifteen rounds of .45 ACP ride in a full-size polymer frame with steel rails, a MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail, and interchangeable backstraps.

Condition

Excellent. The FDE finish is uniform across the slide and frame, with no holster wear, no muzzle wear, and no edge wear along the slide flats or dust cover. Frame checkering and the FN medallion remain crisp, while the black finish on the trigger, hammer, decocking safety levers, slide stop, and magazine release is fully intact. The accessory rail slots are clean and unmarred, and the thread protector shows no tool marks on its knurling. The only wear worth noting appears on the mounted Holosun HS507C X2, where the hard anodizing carries minor handling marks along the hood and left side of the housing. Three factory 15-round magazines, the FN Cordura case, the backstrap set, the optic plate kit, the owner’s manual, and the leather belt holster all come with the pistol.

Compatibility Information

Optic Compatibility — The Holosun HS507C X2 currently mounted uses the RMR footprint. Since the FN MRD sight mounting kit comes with the pistol, a buyer who prefers a different red dot can swap to another supported footprint using the included bases and screws.
