The CMC Component Trigger 3.5lb hands you the sear geometry and hand-assembled fit of CMC’s flagship drop-in triggers, without asking you to pay for a housing you don’t need. Since it’s built for the AR-15 and AR-10 platform, this single-stage trigger uses CMC’s Combat Curved bow, a hybrid shape that pairs the comfort of a traditional curve with the consistent finger placement of CMC’s signature flat design. Because the trigger ships as bare components rather than a self-contained drop-in unit, it goes into your existing lower receiver with no issues.

On top of that, CMC machines the internals from 8620 alloy steel and S7 tool steel, holding tolerances to +/- .001 inch. The parts also get a DLC coating, which means the sear surfaces resist wear right where repeated dry-fire and live-fire cycles put the most stress. Given that it uses CMC’s small-pin (.154″) configuration, it fits the vast majority of AR-platform lowers right out of the box.

Compatibility Information

Firearm Platform Compatibility: This trigger fits AR-15 and AR-10 style rifles that use a small-pin (.154″) mil-spec trigger pin configuration. However, Colt built some AR-15s between 1991 and late 2009 with a large-pin (.172″) receiver, so this small-pin trigger isn’t compatible with rifles from that production window. The Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 and other wide-receiver platforms likewise require CMC’s separate M&P 15-22 Composite Pin version instead of this small-pin unit.
