When HK set out to build the HK CC9, the goal was simple: take everything that makes full-size HK pistols legendary and compress it into a micro-compact that doesn’t ask you to compromise.

The CC9 is a striker-fired, polymer-frame micro-compact chambered in 9mm, designed and manufactured at HK-USA’s Columbus, Georgia facility. Because this is HK’s first pistol purpose-built for the American concealed carry market, the development team held it to the same NATO AC/225 standards as the company’s full-size duty guns — including over 750,000 rounds of testing before a single unit shipped. The result is a gun that measures just 6.03 inches long and 0.99 inches wide, yet carries a full four-finger grip, a 3.32-inch cold hammer-forged polygonal barrel, and a trigger that reviewers consistently compare to a full-size VP9.

The CC9 ships optics-ready with a direct-mount RMSc/407k footprint cut into the slide, so it pairs directly with today’s most popular micro red dots. Additionally, the slide and barrel both carry a DLC finish — a harder-wearing surface treatment than standard nitride or Cerakote. Furthermore, the ambidextrous controls (dual slide stops and a reversible mag release) make this a genuinely left-hand-friendly platform out of the box.

Why This Product Stands Out

The shootability argument for the CC9 is specific, not generic. HK engineered the CC9 with the same length of pull as the full-size VP9, which means the trigger reach isn’t the compromised short-reach pull that makes many micro pistols harder to shoot accurately. Because of this geometry, the CC9’s trigger — a pre-cocked striker system with a distinct wall and approximately 5 lbs. pull — behaves more like a service pistol trigger than a typical micro-compact trigger. That translates directly to faster split times and tighter groups at carry distances.

Beyond the trigger, the CC9 is one of very few micro-compact pistols to carry a DLC coating on both the barrel and slide. DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) is significantly harder and more corrosion-resistant than standard matte black finishes, which means this gun holds up better to the sweat, friction, and daily contact that comes with consistent carry. For that reason, a used CC9 in good condition represents real value — the finish is built to outlast ordinary wear.

The optics-ready RMSc/407k cut is also worth noting specifically, since it supports some of the most popular micro red dots on the market — including the Holosun K-series and Shield RMSc. This CC9 shows normal light carry wear consistent with regular use. The DLC finish on the slide and barrel presents cleanly across all surfaces with no visible scratches, gouges, or finish loss. The polymer frame is clean with no cracks or structural damage observed. The grip texture inserts are intact and show no significant wear. The controls — trigger, slide stops, magazine release, and takedown lever — all appear undamaged and factory-correct. The sights are present and undamaged. Furthermore, this unit includes the original HK soft case and both factory magazines (one 10-round flush-fit and one 12-round extended), making it a complete, ready-to-carry package.
